The ability to make people relax and be themselves allows Niklas to capture the magic that appears when people are completely natural. The book The American West by Richard Avedon, a photographer who skillfully elicited a person’s essence and captured those moments with his lens, inspired Niklas early on in his career. To fully master that skill is something he has been striving for ever since. His portraits often take us close, into the creases of the faces and the truth in their gaze. But even when he photographs landscapes and objects he finds the angles that reinforces that undisguised feeling that doesn’t necessarily strive for perfection, but shows that art is in the imperfections.
