Isabella Ståhl found photography early in life and as a 15-year-old she moved to Stockholm to study media and photography. Since then she has lived in Oslo, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin and New York. She left New York with a degree from the prestigious International Center of Photography. Her work has been exhibited at Fotografiska (The Museum of Photography) in Stockholm as well as internationally.
Growing up on the countryside in northern Sweden made her appreciate nature, which is clearly expressed in her photography. Rural environments and dreamy landscapes are depicted with colors and light that leave a melancholy feeling. She wants to portray the natural world as it is, both the beautiful and the sad, and make people long for nature.
