As you may have noticed, you can get our “Open Edition” prints in three different versions: Full-size, White border, and Passe-partout margin. That way you can display your photo art in whatever way you prefer. Maybe you already own an old frame that will work perfectly with a passe-partout.
But perhaps you’re not sure exactly what you want. In that case, we’ve gathered some inspiration to help you make your decision. Here we go!
If you have a large wall and are considering hanging up a bigger print that will be the central focus, we like to use the full size frame for your print. Many people also like to mix full-size images with other styles, such as the white margin option, to create an interesting dynamic for your photo wall.

White border framing forms a small white margin between the print and the frame itself. It’s a great option if you want to hang up two or more prints right next to each other. It creates some “air” between the subjects so that they harmonize a bit better. In our opinion, the white margin format is a pretty “safe” option, too, if you’re unsure what to choose.
And finally comes the passe-partout, coming from the French meaning “fits everywhere”. It protecs the print by placing a cardboard sheet with a cut-out centre between the glass and the image. This prevents the print from ageing and wear since the photo does not come into direct contact with the glass. (Please be sure your passe-partout is pH-neutral to avoid damaging the print.) And, if you’ll pardon our French, we believe that this style really does fit everywhere. Whether you are getting a smaller print or a larger piece, the passe-partout framing works wonderfully to frame the image and enhance its visual appeal.
